Pokoje oświetlone zimnym światłem białego szumu z telewizyjnych ekranów są zwiastunem nadchodzącej zguby w wielu filmach fabularnych. W Cell, właśnie ten unheimisch (nieprzytulny) kinematograficzny element został wzięty pod lupę. Zagęszczony montaż niezliczonych fragmentów z migocącymi upiornie śnieżącymi ekranami z hollywoodzkich filmów. To najlepsze meta-kino. Nie ma przekazu, samo medium.
(katalog Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Filmowego w Rotterdamie, 2007)

Living rooms coolly lit by white noise on TV screens are a familiar harbinger of approaching doom in most feature films. In Cell, just this one unheimisch cinematographic element is put under the magnifying glass. A concentrated montage of countless fragments with flickering and spooky snow-covered screens from Hollywood films. This is the ultimate meta-cinema. No message, just medium.
